Feilding Surfcasting Club

We as a club endeavour to promote surfcasting New Zealand as a sport, pastime or just as an interest, no matter what level of skill we welcome all new members to our club.

How it all began, a few fishos and a local tackle retailer were the beginnings of which lead to the Feilding Surfcasting Club being incorporated in 1997. The unique thing about our club is that we are an inland surfcasting club, so we dont really have a local beach as such instead we have the option to fish three coastlines within 2 hours drive of Feilding.

The Feilding Surfcasting Club “our club” is a relatively small club one with a membership of around 40, this gives us a great base and a committee with plenty of knowledge but also a smattering of new blood each year. Feilding’s generous boundaries go from Porangahau on the East coast around to Patea on the West coast.

Having three different coastlines enables us to fish no matter what the wind or swell conditions. Having this versatility also means that we are fishing water within close poximity of four different surfcasting club boundaries. This gives us an opportunity to meet with members from other clubs and learn different fishing tactics for different areas, beaches and fish species.
